Holmhead is a former farmhouse which stands uniquely on the foundations of Hadrian's wall near the "Centre of Britain" at the southwest corner of the Northumberland National Park.

Holmhead Guest House has 4 cosy bedrooms, shower/toilet for each one. The bedrooms are fully carpeted, have central heating, armchair, radio, hairdryer, plenty of storage space and lovely countryside views. You can also have delicious evening meals, with good wine list and a cocktail bar.

The Cottage

A barn conversion is integral part of the farm, but with it's own back and front door. The lounge-diner with colour television and hi-fi has south-facing french doors opening onto the patio and car park.

The kitchen area has full electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and automatic washing machine. Tumble dryer available. The bathroom is large and equipped with bars, handrails and transfer platform suitable for the disabled.

The Barn

Our newly developed Barn accommodation offers a great alternative to our existing accommodation and is perfectly suited to those guests who prefer a more active break - perhaps a cycling, walking our outdoor pursuits holiday. The Barn is a perfect planned stopping off point on the Pennine Way, cycle or walking The Hadrian's Wall National Trail.

Located conveniently on the Hadrian's Wall Trail and The Pennine Way (the path goes through the back garden). The Barn offers basic yet comfortable accommodation for up to 8 people. There are views of Hadrian's Wall and the Castle Ruin.

The Barn - consists of two areas equipped with one hot shower and toilet,a compact kitchen(equipped with a camping gas stove, hot and cold water and essential cooking utensils) with dining and seating areas. The open plan interiors have sleeping bench, bunk beds and a mezzanine floor.

There is an outside shower/ toilet, drying room and plenty of space for cycle storage. There is also space outside for two backpacker tents.
