Horsley
Printmakers is an artistic partnership between printmakers,
Rebecca Vincent and Carol Nunan at The Hearth at Horsley, in the heart
of the Tyne Valley, Northumberland. It is a professional working studio
where we make and sell original and limited edition prints.
Horsley Printmakers is one of eight artists’ studios based in
a converted 17th century manse and 19th century schoolrooms, The Hearth,
just one mile south of Hadrian‘s Wall, ten minutes west of Newcastle
and Gateshead off A69 roughly half way between Newcastle-upon-Tyne and
Hexham where there is also an excellent coffee shop.
Horsley Printmakers run printmaking workshops in partnership with The
Centre for Lifelong Learning (accredited by The University Of Sunderland)
and tailor-made printmaking workshops in monoprinting, collagraphs,
linocuts, etching and drypoint. You can book a group of friends or colleagues
(up to 8) for a fun day of printmaking and go home with a bundle of
unusual images. Treat yourself to a creative day out!
Previous course participants who want to improve their skills by working
independently can book studio access for supported sessions with the
experienced back-up of Carol to assist, guide and advise if necessary.
Their experience in teaching a wide range of age groups and ability
types allows them to welcome proposals from schools and community groups
for artist-led workshops. These can be either at the Horsley Printmakers
own studio where you can experience a professional studio environment
but they have a portable printing press, tools and equipment that they
can bring to your school/venue.
They also give talks and demonstrations to schools, art groups, community
groups.
