Festivals and Major Events near Hadrian's Wall Northumberland

Many of the Music Festivals are part of the Northumberland Music Festivals Partnership. There are weekends of traditional music in Hexham, Morpeth, Rothbury and Alnwick every summer.

Grants permits for Brown trout between Butteryhaugh and Deadwater, Permit also covers Angling on sections of Akenshaw Burn, Lewis Burn Kielder Burn and Ridge End Burn. Permits issued at Kielder Castle Visitor Centre.

Ford-Etal Estate

Ford, near Berwick. Lying in the valley of the River Till, the communities of Ford, Etal, Branxton, Milfield and Crookham have so much to offer. First-time visitors may have been drawn by the principal attractions, but as regulars to the area will confirm, there is so much to see and do that one visit simply will not reveal all.

Horse Racing
Hexham Racecourse

Perched on Yarridge Heights high above the historic market town, Hexham Racecourse has been the home of National Hunt racing in Northumberland for well over a century. It is now Northumberland's only racecourse. Also Gosforth Park - 40 minutes away.

Kirkharle Courtyard

So much to see and do. Original works of fine art and photography by local artists, together with decorative items for the home and garden. These compliment the handcrafted English furniture displayed and made in the courtyard. Gold and silver jewellery, classic and contemporary ceramic sculptures inspired by antiquity and mythology.

Hareshaw Linn

A 3 mile return walk through a wooded Dene of oak and ash, carpeted by a rich herb layer, leads to this spectacular waterfall.
