Hadrian's
Wall Bus Service
A tourist bus service links Hexham, Haltwhistle and Carlisle with the major
wall sites during the summer, with an additional one bus per day in each direction,
from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. Additional Winter connections are available
from Hexham and Haltwhistle to certain sites. Contact Hadrian's Wall Information

Coach / Bus
Regular Newcastle - Carlisle buses link the area with National Express and other
services. Local routes connect Hexham and Haltwhistle with North and South Tynedale
and the North Pennines. Tourist busses operate all year round to Hadrian's Wall
and seasonally to Kielder. Contact Hexham TIC for details.

Getting to Hadrian’s Wall, Northumberland
Northumberland is very easy to access from anywhere in the world, and Haltwhistle in Northumberland is the centre of Britain.
Air travel to Northumberland is provided through Newcastle International Airport (Tel: 44 (0) 870 122 1488), just to the south of the county, near Ponteland.
There are currently 15 flights a day to Newcastle from London (Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted) which all take less than an hour. In addition, there are 6 daily flights from Amsterdam, which - like London - has direct flight connections to most of the rest of the world.
